I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from UNBC (environmental emphasis), with university transfer courses from Concordia University of Edmonton (more of a medical emphasis). I believe that this is a very well-rounded degree however, the name of the degree does not fully explain all of the different courses I was able to take throughout my undergraduate education. Through Biology, I learned about viruses, bacteria, genetics, parasites, ecosystems, fisheries, birds and mammals, insects and fungi, plants, populations, conservation, and animal behaviour. This coursework really compliments the Biology requirements in the New BC Curriculum; there are multiple different courses that require different components of Biology such as viruses and microscopic organisms that I have a very broad understanding of.

I also was required to take two Curriculum and Instruction courses for math and science. Taking part and succeeding in these courses required a very strong knowledge of math and science. We did many different lab activities, participated in discussions about assessment of different math and science quiz answers, and we had to construct our own lab instructions for a grade 8 osmosis lab. These two courses were very fast moving survey courses into the potential of what we may be teaching in future classrooms. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in these classes and demonstrating my love and knowledge of math and science.
